Calling all pufflings! We are delighted to be joined for a very special in-store storytime event with the author and illustrator of the Call The Puffins series, Cath Howe and Ella Okstad, for their only UK event this Autumn!

Come along and learn all about Muffin and the rescue team, discover the world of puffins and learn amazing puffin facts, draw and create your own puffin character with Ella, and get to know the puffin promise and the actions that go with it!

This event is free to attend and suitable for ages 5+. Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. 

Booking is only required for children! It’s not necessary to reserve a ticket for accompanying adults.

About Cath Howe

Cath Howe is an author and teacher working in South West London. Cath is known for her warm optimistic books that open up discussions around empathy, friendship and resilience.

Her titles for 9-12 year-olds centre on relatable child characters in real-world situations. They depict the challenges faced by friendships and families, with a light touch. Ella on the Outside was published by Nosy Crow in 2018 followed by Not My Fault, How to be Me, The Insiders and My Life on Fire.

Call The Puffins for age 5+ is a chapter book series illustrated by Ella Okstad. It tells the story of a team of young puffin recruits training to do rescues on the Island of Egg.

About Ella Okstad

Ella Okstad returned to her native Norway after graduating from the Kent Institute of Art and Design. She has worked on lots of different children’s books for both Norwegian and British publishers and is particularly well known for illustrating the Squishy McFluff series.

About Call The Puffins! Tiny’s Brave Rescue

Welcome back to the island of Egg where a group of young puffins are training to join a search and rescue team. Tiny is worried about whether he is good enough to join the team, particuarly as he can’t always see very well. But luckily Muffin and his other teammates are there to help. Together they can face anything – even a scary wild cat on the beach!
